When attempting to install The Exam Simulator, the InstallShield wizard may generate one of the following errors:
These errors do not represent a problem with The Exam Simulator. If you receive either of these errors,
one or both of the following conditions is true:
- The Riched20.dll file file on your computer is corrupted.
- Your computer is infected with the W32.Nimda.A@mm virus.
Both of these conditions are serious and will cause difficulties that extend beyond installation of The Exam
Simulator. To prevent further damage and/or data loss, you must properly identify and correct the condition
that is causing the problem.
You should have the latest version of an antivirus program on your computer at all times. Many computers are
running out-of-date antivirus software, or are not running any antivirus program at all.
If current antivirus software detects W32.Nimda.A@mm, you should allow the antivirus software to remove it.
Note: The Exam Simulator CD-ROM is scanned for all known viruses, trojans, and worms prior to manufacturing. If your
computer is infected with W32.Nimda.A@mm or any other known virus, you may rest assured that The Exam Simulator
CD-ROM is NOT the source of the infection.
Once you have verified that your computer is not infected with any viruses, you need to manually repair the
corrupted Riched20.dll file on your computer. This is an advanced task that should be perfomed by someone who is
comfortable with computers. Please reference the following Microsoft Knowledge Base articles for additional
information and assistance:
Ultimate responsibility for resolution of the Riched20.dll problem lies with Microsoft. The Exam Simulator technical
support staff will be unable to assist you with this problem.
