The Exam Simulator may be unable to complete the registration process because of the following problems:
- The Exam Simulator Website Could Not Be Reached
- Your Product Code Has Been Locked Out
An unregistered copy of The Exam Simulator is not eligible for free technical support or enhanced internet-based learning
features and product updates. It is important to register your copy of The Exam Simulator.
The Exam Simulator Website Could Not Be Reached
When you allow The Exam Simulator to attempt to automatically register itself via the Internet, The Exam Simulator
establishes a connection to the Internet and then sends registration information to The Exam Simulator website.
If your computer is not always connected to the Internet via a cable modem, digital subscriber line, T1 connection, local
area network, or similar physical transport medium; The Exam Simulator will attempt to connect to the Internet using an
existing dialup connection. If this dialup connection is not configured to allow applications to automatically connect,
you may see this message.
If you are using the original edition of Windows 95 and do not have Microsoft Internet Explorer installed, files required
by The Exam Simulator to establish an Internet connection may not be available. It is generally accepted that Internet
Explorer should be installed on machines running the original edition of Windows 95. Internet Explorer contains a number
of updates and fixes that affect the entire operating system. Amongst these updates are the connection mechanisms
employed by The Exam Simulator. It should be noted that the presence of Internet Explorer does not prohibit the use of
alternate browsers such as Netscape. It should also be noted that most AOL users already have Internet Explorer installed.
If connectivity problems persist; firewall or proxy server settings, DNS problems, or other configuration problems may be
to blame. The Exam Simulator communicates using standard POST/REQUEST actions over port 80 and must be able to resolve
www.examsimulator.com as an IP address via DNS.
If a working Internet connection is not available, The Exam Simulator technical support staff will register your product
via telephone for the purpose of providing free technical support.
Your Product Code Has Been Locked Out
The Exam Simulator registration system automatically keeps track of how many times a product code has been registered.
A product code may be registered only twice under normal circumstances. We allow two registrations to account for those
users who want to study both at home and at work, or on a stationary machine and a laptop. The Exam Simulator is licensed
as a single-user program for the purposes of helping a single person study. This policy helps reduce piracy and guarantees
to legitimate licensees of The Exam Simulator access to enhanced internet-based learning features and product updates,
should they elect to take advantage of them via their own internet connection.
If you feel that you have a valid product code, you should contact technical support immediately. If you are using
a copy of The Exam Simulator that you have borrowed from or lent to someone else, a new copy of the software should be
purchased. It is important to understand that some internet-based learning features are available only once per product
code.
